Video: Sunday Oct 14th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the Bermuda football team defeated Sint Maarten 12 – 0, Conde Nast named Bermuda the number #1 island in the Caribbean & Atlantic Region, Elizabeth Blankendal was called to the Bermuda Bar, RUBiS donated $10,000 to P.A.L.S, and Trey Simons was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Runner of Week for the third time this year were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the Bermuda School of Music is getting set to tour in Chicago, Bermudian fashion consultant Shiona Turini is the subject of a recent New York Times article, Devonshire Parish Council is offering a scholarship, young dressage rider Kelsey Amos excelled in overseas events, and Christopher Araujo scored the game-winning goal to help his Cabrini University soccer team record a 2-1 victory
Other good news stories included the Bermuda Powerboat Association finals and prize presentations being held, USA Track & Field choosing Bermuda for an Athlete Summit, Vanessa James & Morgan Cipres winning the French Masters, and Conor White and Caitlin Conyers winning medals at the Elite Caribbean Cycling Championships in the Dominican Republic.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the BBA Cycling President’s Cup Race, the Post Office Long Service Recognition Awards, the Bermuda Gombey Festival Showcase, and the Tiaras & Bow Ties Princess Dance.
