Eliza DoLittle Society Appoint April Augustus
The Eliza DoLittle Society announced the appointment of April Augustus as their new Executive Director.
“April worked in the non-profit sector in New York for more than ten years in various capacities, with a focus on housing and domestic violence. Her roles ranged from Borough Manager of a domestic violence programme run in conjunction with the NYPD which supported five precincts within the Bronx, providing them with case management services and structured support groups,” a spokesperson said.
“Prior to moving to Bermuda in 2017, April held the position of Programme Director at a mental health shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of single females with diagnosed mental health issues. She played an instrumental role in the opening of the center, which was the first of its kind for the Women in Need organization.”
Jennifer Mahoney, outgoing current Executive Director added, “I am pleased to have had the opportunity to work alongside April during her transition into the organization and have no doubt that she will be successful in her new role. Moving on from a position such as this one always comes with a bit of sadness, but I feel the Board selected an ideal candidate in April.”
Mrs.Augustus stated, “I look forward to beginning this next chapter of my career and giving back to our community. There is nothing more gratifying than having a positive impact on the lives of those that we serve.”
“I am eager to establish relationships with other third sector partners, the donor community and other organizations that we can develop synergies with.”
