Leseur Leads SJGT Southern Junior Tournament
Kenny Leseur began competing in the SJGT Southern Junior Golf Tournament at Saugahatchee in Alabama.
At the end of the First Round in the Boy’s 14-15 Division, Leseur would hold a four stroke lead going into the Final Round. Leseur shot an Opening Round 1-under par 71, with Brock Blais and Tristin Wisener T2nd after both shot Opening Rounds of 3-over par 75’s.
Leseur started out on the Back Nine and following three consecutive Pars, Leseur would hit a Double Bogey on the par 3 13th, Leseur would respond with back to back Birdies to get back to Even par, he would play Even Par throughout the final three holes on the Back Nine.
Leseur on the Front Nine ran off seven consecutive Pars, before a Birdie on the par 5 8th hole saw him move to 1-under and he closed out with a Par.
Leseur’s First Round consisted of 3 Birdies, 14 Pars and 1 Double Bogey.
Following his round Leseur said, “Overall I played well today, had one hiccup on the par 3 13th hole but quickly got over that with Birdies on 14 and 15. The greens are very undulating and similar to Mid Ocean, but much faster and firmer. It is a really nice place with a lot of opportunities to make birdies. Hopefully I can do the same thing tomorrow and keep myself in check.”
