19-Year-Old Male Hurt In Smith’s Parish Collision
A 19-year-old male was taken to hospital following a collision involving a motorcycle and water truck in Smith’s.
A police spokesperson said, “A nineteen-year-old male was this morning taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision involving the motorcycle he was riding and a water truck.
“The collision occurred at around 8:18am at the junction of St. Marks Road Verdmont Road in Smith’s Parish.
“The injured man sustained a laceration and fractures to his face. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening
“He was attended to at the scene by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service EMTs and was conscious at the time he was conveyed by ambulance to King Edward Hospital for further treatment.
“The driver of the water-truck, a sixty-nine year old mate was unhurt.
“The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the truck was left with minor front end damage.
“The collision resulted in the entire length of Collectors Hill being blocked off for an extensive period while Police Traffic Collision Investigators and other officers processed the scene. It has however, now been re-opened.
“Anyone with information on about this morning’s collision at the junction of Verdmont Road and St. Marks Road in Smith’s Parish, is asked to contact Constable Craig Outerbridge, on the main police line, 295-0011.”
