Governor Rena Lalgie On Covid, Vaccines, More
On the eve of the upcoming Stay-At-Home Order, Her Excellency the Governor Rena Lalgie offered the following, saying, “I would like to offer my sincere condolences to those who have lost a beloved family member or friend to COVID recently.
“While I know that many of us are experiencing COVID fatigue, it is vitally important that we continue to adhere to the public health regulations which have been put in place.
“Bermuda is now in possession of enough vaccines provided by the UK Government [over 77,000 in total] and through the Government of Bermuda’s association with Covax [some 9,700 in total] to vaccinate the adult population on island. Vaccinations prevent severe illness from COVID and thereby prevent hospitalisation.
“We have an opportunity to get to a place where COVID no longer has to result in the deaths of our family members, friends and neighbours. I urge those of you who have not yet been vaccinated to consider doing so.”
