106 Visit KEMH Due To Road Accidents In March

106 people visited the Hospital’s Emergency Department or Urgent Care Centre in March due to road traffic accidents, according to the latest statistics from the Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB].

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] road traffic accident statistics for the period 1 January 2021 – 31 March 2021 show 96 cases were seen in February and 106 in March in the Emergency Department of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre. In February, ten people had to be admitted to an acute care unit due to their injuries. In March, nine people had be admitted, three of them to the ICU.”

    Maybe we should extend the curfew, test more or go into lockdown to protect our residents. People are driving like they have a death wish. Its not pleasant to be on our roads.

      Dear Marron, Instead we must find a REAL sustainable solution- not a short term solution to a long term problem. Get off your a** & let’s not pretend the lockdown will be a quick fix to these real life issues that aren’t going anywhere.

      Absolutely! And shut down all the chicken shops caus they killing people with night cholesterol and heart disease. Ban cigarettes and alcohol too.
