You Go Girl! Relay Set For Sunday June 5
The organizing committee of the You Go Girl! Relay said they will be “rolling out the red carpet” on Front Street on Sunday, June 5th for their 11th annual event.
A spokesperson said, “The race, which kicks off at 8.30am, is an all-female event for all ages. Minimum age to participate is 7. Team members of three compete in three laps, each being 2K, of the same course, where the first person is required to do all three laps, the second person two laps and the last person one lap.

“Each person joins the person before them [except the first person] as they finish a lap. So, after lap one, the second person will join the team member that started and then after lap two, the third person will join those two.
“There is also the option of all team members doing all three laps.
“All proceeds will be donated to the Women’s Resource Centre. Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. Goodie bags will be handed out to the first 400 who register.
“Draw prizes will include a weekend for two at the Hamilton Princess, Pilates Classes from Bermuda Bodyworks and bottles of bubbly from Goslings.
“Plus there’s an added incentive – all participants will be given one entry into the draw for an ‘E’ scooter with the option to buy more tickets at $10 a ticket. The ‘E’ scooter has been anonymously donated. Winning teams will receive Sportseller vouchers.
“Sponsors of the event are OIL Insurance and U by Kotex. To register, go to www.racedayworld.com. Late registration and number pick-up will be on Saturday, June 4 between 10.00am & 12.00 noon at Butterfield & Vallis on Woodlands Road. This event is supported by MAAC [Mid Atlantic Athletic Club].”
