The Parquet Flyers opened up a one-game lead in Softball’s A Division with an 18-8 victory over The Kings. The Flyers’ Manuel Flores [4-4] knocked in six runs and had two homers to lead the way for his club. Teammates Steve O’Flynn [4-4] and Jorgito Castellanos [3-4, 2 HRs] aided in the win. Leftfielder John Rolph [3-4] and Stacey Paynter [2-3] were the top hitters for The Kings.
Moongate Brewers took over sole possession of second with a five0inning thumping of X-Bats 19-3. Pat Murphy [2-3] had two of the X-Bats five hits. It only took the Brewers four innings to pile up their 19 runs. For the winning side, Alex Styche [3-3] had three-run homers in the third and fourth innings. Gary Adams and Shane Kohls were both 3-3 and homered.
The Beach Bums slipped past FIU Scared Hitless 4-3 in a rare pitchers’ duel in the B Division. Reid Henderson scored the winning run on a walk-off single by Katie Hart. Cup Match legend Jordan Desilva was 3-3. Scared Hitless scored all their runs in the third inning. Sophia Burch [2-2] and Dwayne Daniels were the top bats for FIU. Super Express boosted their playoff hopes with a 23-16 triumph over Five O’s. Garic Swainson [3-4] and Mackhi McGowan [3-4] led the offensive output for Express. Swainson, Tradick Danielle, and Chay Carlington all homered.
Mike’s Trucking kept an unblemished C Division record with a 19-4 shellacking of KillaWhat. A huge nine-run fifth inning put this game out of reach. Mike Oliveira had another big game with two homers and eight RBi while being a perfect 3-3 at the dish. Carlos Lima [3-3, 4R, 3RBI, HR] and John Outerbridge [2-4, HR, 4 RBI] helped push runs across the plate in the triumph. KillaWhat had three runs in the first before suffering a power outage. Khimo Outerbride [3-3] plated those runs. Troy Hall and Steven Pacheco were both 2-3.
Oddballs used an eight-run sixth to pull away from Butterfield & Vallis 15-7. Perry Damerosio was 3-5 for Oddballs. Leadoff man Marcus Johnson was 4-4 for B&V.
