Whip E-Scooter & Pull My Hair Salon Partner

July 20, 2022

The success of Bermudian business post the Covid pandemic “relies on passion, hard work, and collaboration,” according to Malika Serrar of Pull My Hair salon and Alex Marshall of Whip Rideshare E-Scooters, with the pair entering into a customized E-scooter brand partnership.

Both entrepreneurs said they understand that by supporting each other, the road to recovery for Bermuda small businesses is made easier.

The partnership sees Pull My Hair receive five fully customized Whip electrically assisted scooters and helmets in their recognizable pink and emblazoned with the salon logo and contact details. Additionally the salon has been designated a Whip Station for pick up and drop off at 95 Front Street location.

When Ms. Serrar saw the first e-scooters she knew it was an opportunity not to be missed. She said, “I was with my family enjoying the Sail GP festivities and could not help but notice how amazing the idea was of transport at your fingertips via the Whip Rideshare App available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. With the tap of the app you were on your way!”

Ms. Serrar — who said she prides herself on “hiring Bermudians, supporting local businesses, and featuring local models” — understood that Whip was the next way to connect with potential customers.

When Mr. Marshall got the call from Pull My Hair he said he knew that this would be the ideal first fully customized collaboration.

“Talking to Malika I could sense how passionate she was, just overflowing with ideas and energy. She thinks outside the box and communicated that this was not just promotion for her salon but an opportunity to double down in the Bermuda market,” he said.

“Whip will work with any other potential advertising clients to understand their vision for the scooters customizations and how to effectively gather maximum exposure for their brands via this collaboration. The turn-around time on delivery of the customized scooters is 10 to 14 days and options for colours are limitless to what a customer desires.

“Pull My Hair and Whip have upcoming promotions planned across their social media platforms which will be sure to entice new riders and customers as well along with model photoshoots and video campaigns.

“Whip has quickly become the coolest way to get around the island in an easy hassle free manner.” Mr. Marshall added, “If you find yourself tired of waiting for a taxi, bus, or just find yourself without an easy means of transportation when you need it, give Whip a try. It is easy to use and you can drop off your Whip anywhere island wide.

“In Hamilton use bike bays for parking. Anywhere else you can take it and leave it at either a Whip Zone Parking Area hub opr anywhere that it can be placed neatly to the side not blocking pathways/entranceways. Be courteous and treat them as if they are your own and the community will be able to enjoy them as a shared micro mobility evolution of Bermuda’s transport offerings.”

He also said, “A full Whip battery can get you from one end of the island to the other. It is only $3 to unlock and start a ride plus 50 cents a minute which equals $30 an hour. However if you only need to use it for 10 minutes you only pay for the time you use it so it would be $5 plus the unlock fee of $3 etc. Just swipe to end your ride when you get where you are going.

Those scooters are a nuisance, there like trash scattered around the island.

      They’ll fit right in then.

I have to admit that it does look a little unsightly. Especially when in many instances you can’t tell if they’ve been deliberately set up where they are or if they’ve been abandoned.
