Kayakers Event To Raise Money For SCARS
Kayakers and paddleboarders will complete a loop of the island this weekend in aid of a child sexual abuse prevention charity.
The seventh annual Kayak For Kids event will raise funds and awareness for Saving Children and Revealing Secrets [SCARS].
Thirty-four kayakers and two paddleboarders, followed by three jet skis and three support boats, including the Bermuda Coast Guard, have registered for the fundraiser.
The 40-mile route starts at Somerset Long Bay Beach at 8 am on Saturday and finishes at Clearwater Beach in St David’s, from where participants will start on Sunday morning to return to Somerset Long Bay.
Funds raised through corporate sponsorship and individuals will support Scars’ training and awareness activities.
