Bermuda Bicycle Association Road Race Results
The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s road racing season kicked off this morning with the traditional team time trial, with teams of 3 or 4 riders to race the 9 mile course from the former Paget post office along Middle Road, up Lighthouse Road and then back to Bermuda College on South Road.
A spokesperson said, “Leading the results table was the trio from VT Construction, comprised of Dominique Mayho, Jackson Langley and Cameron Morris. Their winning time of 22:00 was almost a minute ahead of the second place team, also from VT Construction, with the Bermuda Rulers Cycle Club’s Wouter Aarts, Kian Wookely, Andrew Charlesworth and Stephen Ryan rounding out the Open category podium. Top team in the Women category was another VT Construction grouping of Maddie Durkin, Cora Lee Starzomski and Rose Ana Hoey, just 15 seconds faster than the Bicycle Works team and two minutes ahead of the Bermuda Junior Cycling women.
“One of the more impressive efforts of the morning was turned in by the team of Andrew Thomas, Zach Moniz, Dylan Eiselt and Jacob Wright, all aged 13 or 14. Their time of 25:45 made them the eleventh team overall and top of the Junior category.
