Bermuda’s Sincere Hall scored for the Hull City Under-21 team as they played to a 2-1 victory over Peterborough United.

The Peterborough United club’s match report said, “Two first half goals from Hull City condemned Peterborough United U21s to a 2-1 defeat in the Professional Development League on Tuesday afternoon at the Weston Homes Stadium.

“Posh struck the woodwork inside the opening 60 seconds as Kai Corbett’s lofted ball into the box was flicked on by Lewis Darlington to Kellan Hickinson at the back-post and his left-footed effort struck the post. At the other end, Harry Wood dragged a shot wide of the far-post after a low cross found him in acres of space.

“Ricky-Jade Jones’ cross into the box was met by Hickinson and his initial header was blocked, and on the second attempt, the ball fell straight into the hands of Dave Robson. Sincere Hall’s effort from the edge of the box forced Lakin into a good save to his right-hand side.

“The visitors broke the deadlock on 15 minutes as a short pass to Charlie O’Connell saw Will Jarvis beat the defender to the ball and he advanced into the box before slotting his effort past Lakin.

“The Tigers doubled their advantage on 23 minutes as the visitors broke in numbers quickly and Hall was picked out on the right area of the box and his scuffed effort found the back of the net. Jarvis should have further extended their lead shortly after, but Lakin produced a fantastic reaction save to keep out his effort from close-range.

“Lakin was called into action in the early stages of the second as Harry Vaughan fed the ball to Hall on the edge of the box and his effort was pushed around the post by Lakin. Posh were close to cutting the deficit on 55 minutes as Benjamin Mensah’s floated ball into the box was taken down by Jones, but he scuffed his effort wide of the near-post.

“Jones had another chance on 63 minutes as the forward latched onto a long-ball over the top and advanced into the box, but Robson was out quickly to block his effort with his feet. Posh then struck the woodwork once again two minutes later after Luke Harris’ effort from the edge of the box was deflected onto the post.

“Posh pulled a goal back on 66 minutes and it was a wonderful finish from Corbett as the ball was played to the forward on the left area of the box and he curled his effort into the top right-hand corner.”
