Two Injured In Collision In Southampton
Two people have been transported to hospital following a collision on Middle Road in Southampton today, [June 11] with the police saying “the woman is believed to have suffered life threatening injuries.”
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly before 5pm on Sunday 11th June, police and other first responders were dispatched to the scene of a serious two vehicle collision, involving a livery cycle and a motorcar, on Middle Road just west of Evens Bay, Southampton.
“An investigation surrounding the circumstance of this collision has commenced, with initial information suggesting that a livery cycle with two people, was traveling in the westbound lane when the male rider lost control of the cycle and crossed into the path of a motorcar traveling in the eastbound lane.
“Both the man and his female pillion passenger have been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The woman is believed to have suffered life threatening injuries, while the man has suffered a leg injury.
“The driver of the car was not reported to be injured.
“Traffic is currently being diverted around the scene with single lane control in place, while police process the scene.
