A Beating of the Retreat Ceremony was held on the Cabinet Office Grounds in Hamilton last night [July 12].
A Government spokesperson previously said, “This colourful pageant of military music, popular tunes, and precision drill is performed by the Royal Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums, Bermuda Islands Pipe Band and the Bermuda Highland Dancers.”

This is something very special that should be shared with residents and visitors alike.
Sadly, many visitors were not able to watch as it was not widely communicated. My friends waited near the flag pole hoping to see Beating of the Retreat ceremony, not knowing that it is no longer done there but at the Cabinet grounds. They were very disappointed.
This in addition to the lack of buses available on island to visit attractions left them with a sour taste in their mouths.
We need to do better.
