Bermuda Make Winning Start Against Canada

Bermuda made a sublime start to their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier after thrashing Canada by 86 runs in their opening match at White Hill Field today [September 30].
The island’s big-match players rose to the occasion, with Kamau Leverock bludgeoning his way to 83 off 43 balls and captain Delray Rawlins hitting 66 off 38 as Bermuda amassed 181 for nine off 20 overs.
In reply, Canada, who won the toss, were bowled out for 95 off 17 overs, with Cejay Outerbridge claiming three wickets for 18 runs, Zeko Burgess two for 12 and Rawlins two for 13.
Bermuda are battling it out in a double-round robin format against Canada, the Cayman Islands and Panama over six days to claim a spot in the Men’s T20 World Cup next summer.
Coach Niraj Odedra’s side return to action tomorrow against Panama at White Hill Field.
