Female motorcycle racer Mikayla Moore will be the star attraction on the final race day of the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association’s [BMRA] season at Southside Motorsports Park on Sunday [October 29].

The American rider is the champion of the Royal Enfield 2023 Build. Train. Race. Series – an initiative focusing on teaching women to build and race their own motorcycles – winning all six of her races and leading every lap.

Moore, 19, capped off her season in the United States by competing in an American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association race day at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, earlier this month finishing on the podium in all three of her classes.

She will compete in Bermuda in the Endurance Race Series – a three-hour exhibition race – as part of a team of riders along with her father, Will Moore, who is also an accomplished rider.

David Jones, the BMRA president, said Moore’s invitation to the island was through Billy Dunn, a family friend and BMRA youth co-ordinator.

“We’re delighted to bring Mikayla to Bermuda – she’s in high demand right now!” Jones told Bernews. “She’ll be coming to race and will be part of a team in an endurance race. We’ll be racing on the Kawasaki Ninja 400s.

“We’re hoping for a good crowd – the only sticking point is the weather right now. “Hopefully, it will be all clear by Sunday and we will have a beautiful day.”
