Shield & Friendship Quarter-Final Results
The Devonshire Colts and Somerset Eagles claimed victories in this weekend’s Friendship & Shield quarter-finals football action, while the matches between the St. George’s Colts and Hamilton Parish and North Village Rams and Devonshire Cougars ended in draws.
Shield Quarter-Finals
Devonshire Colts 2 – Robin Hood 1
Devonshire Colts kept their 2023/24 season unbeaten record intact following their 2 – 1 win over Robin Hood to advance to the semi-final draw of the Shield at Lord’s in St. David’s.
Chemarl Henry gave Devonshire Colts the lead in the 14th minute and Daniel Ball doubled the lead six minutes later. Jahron Dickinson pulled a goal back for Robin Hood in the 41st minute as the teams went to the break with the score 2 – 1.
Neither team beat the opposing goalkeeper in the second half as Devonshire Colts advanced.
Somerset Eagles 2 – Wolves 0
The Somerset Eagles completed the semi-final field for the Shield following their 2 – 0 win over Wolves at the BAA field.
Makal Robinson gave Somerset Eagles a 1 – 0 lead before Michael Tyler Emery doubled the lead in the 39th minute. They took the 2 – 0 lead to the break.
Neither team found the back of the net in the second half as the Somerset Eagles advanced to the semi-final draw.
Friendship Quarter-Finals
St. George’s Colts 2 [3] – Hamilton Parish 2 [4] – after kicks from the penalty mark
Hamilton Parish advanced to the semi-finals of the Friendship following their kicks from the penalty mark win over the St. George’s Colts at Lord’s in St. David’s.
Macquille Walker gave Hamilton Parish the lead in the sixth minute and they took that 1 – 0 lead to the break.
Jonte Smith equalized for the St. George’s Colts in the 53rd minute, but Justin Bell put Hamilton Parish back in front in the 60th minute. In stoppage time, the St. George’s Colts were awarded a penalty and Smith made no mistake, sending the game into extra time.
Neither team beat the goalkeeper in the extra 30 minutes, resulting in the match being decided on kicks from the penalty mark, which saw Hamilton Parish goalkeeper Nigel Burgess saving two penalties for them to advance 4 – 3.

North Village Rams 3 – Devonshire Cougars 1
The North Village Rams advanced to the semi-finals of the Friendship following their 3 – 1 win over the Devonshire Cougars at the BAA field.
Troy Tucker gave the North Village Rams the lead with a long-range shot in the 34th minute and they took the 1 – 0 lead to the break.
The North Village Rams lead was doubled in the 65th minute when Jaizel Smith Deshields found the back of the net. The Devonshire Cougars pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute when Elisha Darrel scored, but two minutes later Jordan Outerbridge restored the North Village Rams’ two goal lead as they earned the 3 – 1 win.
