Traffic Notice For Presidents Cup Road Race
The Government issued a traffic notice for the Bermuda Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race scheduled on Sunday [Dec 17].
A spokesperson said, “Under the authority of the Road Traffic Act 1947, the Government issued the “Road Traffic [Bermuda Bicycle Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race] [Variation of Speed Limits] Order 2023,” modifying the speed limit applicable to the road race to 75 kilometers per hour along the designated route, starting from 60 Harbour Road, Paget, and traversing various roads, including Harbour Road, East Broadway, St. John’s Road, North Shore Road, Kindley Field Road, and others, concluding at 60 Harbour Road, just west of the intersection with Chapel Road.
“The Commissioner of Police is authorized to implement road closures and parking directives for public safety during the event, which is expected to take place from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Notably, there will be no full road closures, no parking restrictions along the route, and motorists are urged to exercise caution and follow instructions from race officials to ensure smooth traffic control during the bicycle race.”
