Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with the Southampton Rangers, Vasco, Devonshire Colts, Young Men Social Club all earning wins, while five other matches ended in draws.
First Division
Southampton Rangers 3 Boulevard Blazers 2
The Southampton Rangers edged the Boulevard Blazers 3 – 2 at the Southampton Oval.
Malachi Jones scored a hat trick to lead the Southampton Rangers to victory, while the Boulevard Blazers got single strikes from Dunn-ya Taylor and Khiry Easton.
Wolves 0 Vasco 1
Vasco edged Wolves 1 – 0 at the Bernard’s Park.
After a scoreless first half, player/coach Leo Burgess scored the lone goal of the game in the 84th minute to earn Vasco the win.
St. David’s 1 Devonshire Colts 2
Devonshire Colts keep their 100% league record intact with a 2 – 1 win over St. David’s at Lord’s.
Keino Burch gave Devonshire Colts the lead in the 7th minute, but St. David’s would get an equalizer in the 53rd minute from Aaron Paynter, however when it looked like the teams would share the points, Chermal Henry headed in the winner in stoppage time to earn Devonshire Colts the win.
Premier Division
North Village Rams 3 St. George’s Colts 3
The North Village Rams and the St. George’s Colts drew 3 – 3 at Bernard’s Park.
Tre Ming scored 2 goals for the North Village Rams, and they got another strike from Jalen Harvey, while the St. George’s Colts got 2 goals from Blaze Hall, and Jibri Salaam scored the other.
X-Road’s 1 Young Men Social Club 2
Young Men Social Club edged X-Road’s 2 – 1 at Lord’s in St. David’s in a bottom-of-the-table clash.
Teiko Lowe gave X-Road’s the lead in the 16th minute, Mical Hardtman equalized for Young Men Social Club in the 36th minute as the teams went to the break level at 1 – 1.
Malique Wilson gave Young Men Social Club a 2 – 1 lead in the 46th minute, X-Road’s had a chance to level the score in stoppage time when they were awarded a penalty, however the spot kick was missed.
Paget Lions 2 Hamilton Parish 2
At the Southampton Oval, the Paget Lions and Hamilton Parish drew 2 – 2.
Hamilton Parish took the lead in the 4th minute when Mauriq Hill scored, the Paget Lions drew level in the 33rd minute when Diaje Hart scored. The teams went to the break at 1 – 1.
The Paget Lions went ahead 2 – 1 in the 75th minute when Delray Rawlins scored, but one minute later Hamilton Parish drew level when Hill scored his second goal of the game, as the two teams shared the points.
