Berkeley & Lander Win Tropical 7s In Florida
Nisaiah Berkeley and her Lander University women’s rugby teammates competed in the Tropical 7s Rugby Tournament in Tampa, Florida.
Competing in the Under 23 Women’s Open Division, Lander competed in Pool B. In their opening group match, Lander defeated Adrian College 24-14. Lander then drew 12 – 12 with Army West Point Gold, before closing out the group stage by defeating Dartmouth 31 – 7.
In the championship playoffs, they defeated Florida State 34 – 12 in the quarter-finals. They then defeated Dartmouth 27 – 12 in the semi-final.
In the U23W Open championship game, Lander took on Harvard University, lifting the trophy with a 19 – 5 win.
