BGA To Host 2024 Bermuda Amateur Ladies
The Bermuda Golf Association will host the 2024 Bermuda Amateur Ladies Stroke Play Championships this Friday, June 14th – Sunday, June 16th, at the Port Royal Golf Course.
A spokesperson said, “The 54-hole event is one of five majors on the BGA calendar. The BGA were forced to hold the event separately from the men’s championship, as most of the ladies will be off-island next week participating in the Kitty Michael Golf Tournament in New Jersey.
“There will be a new open champion this year as Vanessa Chychrun will not be returning to defend her title. The field is mostly made up of veteran golfers, including 2023 Senior Championship winner Tracy Burgess, who will be challenged by fellow seniors Katrin Burnie, Tracy Nash, Linda Down, Ann Symonds, and Carin Brule. Kim Botelho, who can also be considered a veteran, will be a major contender. Other golfers to look out for are the fast-improving duo of Morgan Lightbourne and teenager Sienna Mosquera, who has posted some impressive finishes while in school overseas.”
