Movie Nights At Parson’s Road Playground
A series of six free movie nights, designed to “uplift and empower” the community, started on Friday [June 14] at Parson’s Road Playground.
The Jazzy Treats Free Movie Nights continue on June 28, July 12 and 26, and August 9 and 23, running from 6 pm to 10 pm, featuring live entertainment, fun castles, food options, and Jazzy Treats’ sherbet shakes.
A statement read: “Jazzy Treats Free Movie Nights this summer will not just be events; they will be opportunities to foster community spirit and provide some family-friendly entertainment.
“Each evening will feature local artists before the movie screening, enhancing the experience and drawing more visitors to the area, thus supporting other local businesses.
“Our goal is to expand these efforts to further benefit the community by bringing the community together for other group projects, such as beautifying the playground and the park, we can achieve great things.”
Jazzy Treats also plans to hold a Community Day, where people will be invited to plant shrubs and trees, install seating and picnic tables, and add shade and trash cans to the playground.
“We would also like to see a boundary fence installed on the north bank of the creek for safety,” the statement continued.
“Through our efforts, we also aim to raise funds and awareness to rebuild the gazebo that was once the centrepiece of the park many years ago.
“By doing so, we aim to create a more welcoming and enjoyable space for everyone.”
Jazzy Treats are also appealing for donations from individuals and businesses to go towards projects to improve Parson’s Road Playground and the park.
“We believe with everyone’s support, we can make a significant difference in our neighbourhood, transforming it into a positive and thriving community,” the statement continued.
“We would be honoured to have you as a donor in this initiative. Together we can make a difference and create a better future in our community.”
