Nathan Trott’s Copenhagen Win Shootout
Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott helped FC Copenhagen defeat Banik Ostrava 2-1 away in a penalty shootout in the second leg of their Uefa Conference League third qualifying round match today [August 15].
Copenhagen, who won the first leg 1-0, lost the match 1-0 to leave the aggregate score 1-1 and send the game into penalties.
Jirina Prekop scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute.
Czech Republic side Banik missed four of their five penalties to hand Copenhagen the victory.
Trott, 25, signed for Danish side Copenhagen from English Premier League outfit West Ham United in June.
“It was a massive game and a massive win,” Trott told Copenhagen’s social media.
“I’m glad we could win the penalty shootout. It was a tough game.”
