Tammy L. Richardson‑Augustus, lawyer and Bermuda Country Lead for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference [CSC], represented Bermuda at high‑level leadership engagements in London marking the 70th anniversary of one of the Commonwealth’s most enduring leadership development traditions.

A spokesperson said, “The Anniversary Dinner at St James’s Palace was the defining moment of the week. Hosted by Sir Alan Parker, Chairman of CSC, and held under the auspices of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, President of CSC, the gathering brought together sponsors, distinguished alumni and Commonwealth representatives to honour the great experiment launched by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1956.

“At the heart of CSC is the model first conceived by the Duke: placing leaders in unfamiliar settings and exposing them to different perspectives to cultivate the insight and empathy required for public purpose. Seven decades on, that structure continues to shape CSC’s ethos of shared experience, multidisciplinary understanding and leadership grounded in inquiry.

“The Palace dinner was framed by a series of wrap‑around events themed 70+ Connecting Commonwealth Leaders for Good.

“The programme opened with a mini study tour in the London Borough of Ilford, where participants engaged community and faith leaders on three central themes: social innovation, civic participation and the discipline of listening across difference.

“The second day’s session, hosted at Deloitte’s Innovation Lab, provided a platform for a broad generative discussion on how the 8,000 strong CSC network might unlock deeper partnerships and accelerate collective impact across the Commonwealth.

“Richardson‑Augustus also participated in the Leadership Forum at Marlborough House, convened by the Commonwealth Secretariat and curated by CSC Pakistan in partnership with Commonwealth Leaders Dialogue Canada. The Forum explored public trust, influence, economic transformation and the future of global engagement, drawing on insights from leading voices across government, diplomacy, business, media, academia and civil society.

“Contributors included Tania Baumann, Deputy Secretary General [Corporate] at the Commonwealth Secretariat; Baroness Nosheena Mobarik CBE, Member of the House of Lords; and Dr Salman Ahmed, Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation at Fidelity International, among others.  The discussions underscored the Commonwealth’s particular strength in building trust and establish commonality across regions and disciplines, at a time when jurisdictions are placing renewed emphasis on the importance of the rule of law and institutional resilience. The commemorative week reaffirmed the enduring power of CSC’s founding insight: that leaders are shaped by curiosity, multidisciplinary understanding and shared experience.”

Ms Richardson‑Augustus remarked, “Leadership endures when it strengthens institutions and serves people.”

Other distinguished CSC Bermuda alumni include Ed Ball Jr., Co‑Chair of the CSC Bermuda Chapter; Michael J. Spurling, Donald Scott; Darren Johnston; David Dodwell; Terry Lister; Neville Grant; Jason Hayward; and Kristin White.
