News that Northshore Medical & Aesthetics Center [NMAC] has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Fabiola Adams, fifteen high school students completed the six-week SkillCraft Youth Internship, gaining experience in social media marketing, the Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative in conjunction with the BEDC held the second BizCamp of the summer earlier this month, Imani Bell has been awarded the $15,000 MJM Legal Education Scholarship and Chiaje Rudo and Ramaya Edwards have been awarded scholarships by Butterfield were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Bermudian Olympians Jack Harvey and Erica Hawley were warmly welcomed back home following their Olympic debuts, the Bermuda team won 13 medals at Carifta Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships!, Bermuda’s Under-14 Boys National Team will advance in the 2024 Caribbean Football Union Tier II Challenge Series, after winning four consecutive games and Kiwon Waldron was back in action competing in harness racing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Indiana.
Other good news stories included Clarien’s new interns, Maya Dean, Chelsea Correira, and David Goonewardene, made a “significant impact” this summer with their fresh ideas, the company said, Appleby’s Bermuda office recently concluded its first annual summer internship mock trial, known as a “moot court” competition, Sail Away Soca and Jumuiya Ya Afrika have joined forces having a fundraiser to support a healthy meals program already in place at Dellwood Middle School, One Communications will sponsor the Kids Zone at Harbour Night and This week’s Bernews Wallpaper Wednesday features an iconic Longtail adorned with soft Bermuda flag accents.
More good news, Bacardi Limited concluded its 2024 Summer Internship Program, Stephanie and Keenan Bailey welcomed Sarai during Hurricane Ernesto, Zea Swainson completes Butterfield’s 2024 Leadership and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme and Skyah Walker and Charlie Thorpe completed internships at Wilton Re Bermuda Limited.
