Bermuda To Host ICC Americas Tour This Month
[Updated] The island will host the ICC Americas Select Team for a four-match tour later this month, with the Bermuda Cricket Board announcing a schedule featuring matches against the Bermuda select team as well as the Somerset and St George’s teams.
The tour kicks off on September 11th and 12th with back-to-back T20 encounters between the ICC Americas Select Team and the Bermuda Select Team at the National Sports Centre, both starting at 3:30 pm.
The cricketing action then shifts to the St. George’s Cricket Club on September 14th for another T20 showdown against the St. George’s Cricket Club. The tour culminates in a 40-over match on September 15th at the Somerset Cricket Club, where the ICC Americas Select Team will face off against the Somerset Cup Match Team.

Update 12.44pm: A Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Cricket Board is excited to announce the arrival of the Americas ICC Select Team, comprised of top cricket talent from across the Americas. They will compete in a series of highly anticipated matches against Bermuda’s finest. The series kicks off on Wednesday, September 11, with the Americas ICC Select Team facing the Bermuda Select Team at 3:30 PM at the National Sports Centre.
“The Americas ICC Select Team will include top talent from the region, such as USA players Ali Sheikh, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Kwame Patton Jr., Vatsal Vaghela, and Aarin Nadkarni. The five players will provide a mix of spin bowling and middle order bats.
“Renowned cricket coach Mahesh Hatkar from India will guide the team. Coach Hatkar will use the series to scout Bermuda’s players for areas of improvement. He has worked with the BCB senior men’s team in India and is currently offering his expertise to the BCB U19 men’s national select team.
“Additionally, standout players from the Falkland Islands’ left-handed all-rounder Phillip Stroud and Argentina’s Tomas Rossi and Alan Kirschbaum are both talented middle-order batsmen and reliable bowlers. Luiz Muller of Brasil will be looking to add to his growing reputation.
“Cricket Canada will provide Yuvraj Samra [opening batter] and are looking to add an opening pace bowler to the ICC America squad. The team will be completed with Marc Taylor of Bahamas, who will add more firepower to this team of All-Star Players.”
