Tanker Diverts Due To Injured Crew Member
A tanker – traveling from Mexico to Spain – diverted to Bermuda to disembark a crew member who had been involved in an accident and suffered a broken arm.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Friday 1st November, 8:45 am – RCC Bermuda received a telephone call from the shipping agent acting on behalf of the Greek registered tanker Homeric which was on passage from Mexico to Spain.
“A crew member onboard had been involved in an accident and suffered a broken arm; the ship diverted to Bermuda with an ETA of 2 pm on the same day. The crewmember disembarked to the Pilot Boat St George for onward transportation to hospital by an ambulance which was arranged to meet the patient at Ordnance Island.”
