Two People Injured In Collision In Pembroke

[Updated] Two people — a motorcyclist and a pedestrian — were injured in a collision this evening [Jan 21] in Pembroke.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:20 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to a serious road traffic collision near the junction of Crosslands Lane and Parsons Road, Pembroke.

“Information is limited at this time. However, it appears the incident involved a motorcyclist and a pedestrian. Both persons were attended to at the scene before being transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment of their injuries, which are described as serious.

“The scene is currently being processed with diversions in place at Deepdale Road West (Two Way Deepdale) and Roberts Avenue. We are appealing for your patience and cooperation while this is being done and urge that motorists approach the area with caution. We will provide updates as they become available.”

Update January 22, 2.13pm: A police spokesperson said, “Two men were hospitalised Tuesday night, after being injured in a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on Parsons Road in Pembroke that occurred around 7:20pm Tuesday, 21st January 2025.

“It appears that the motorcycle involved was being ridden in the westbound lane of Parsons Road when the pedestrian was struck as he attempted to cross the road, in the vicinity of Crossland Lane.

“Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, as well as ambulance personnel, responded.

“Both injured individuals were rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“At last check the rider, believed to be a 26-year-old Devonshire man, was in the Intensive Care Unit [ICU], while the pedestrian, believed to be a 68-year-old Devonshire man, also remained at the hospital receiving treatment.

“The scene was processed following the collision and inquiries continue.

“Any witnesses are encouraged to call Constable Jonathan Flood on 211, or e-mail jflood@bps.bm.

“Alternatively, members of the public with relevant information are encouraged to share it with a police officer they know, or provide it through the Bermuda Police Service online community reporting portal, https://portal.police.bm/.”
