As he approaches his 60th birthday, Carlton Crockwell, plans to mark the occasion with a charity walk to raise funds for ‘Showers for the Homeless’.

A spokesperson said, “As he approaches his 60th birthday on 16 February 2025, Carlton Crockwell, PhD, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Security Associates, the island’s oldest security firm, and a Pastor at Victory New Kingdom Worship Centre, is choosing to celebrate in a meaningful way. Instead of a traditional birthday event, Crockwell is inviting the community to join him in a charity walk aimed at raising funds for ‘Showers for the Homeless’ and offering prayers for the homeless in Bermuda.

“The walk will take place on Saturday, 15 February, and Sunday February 16 beginning at 5 a.m. Crockwell, alongside his wife and best friend, Jorene Crockwell, will embark on a journey from Dockyard to St. George’s and back—a demonstration of commitment and solidarity for those in need.”

“This isn’t just a walk; it’s a heartfelt opportunity for us to live out our Christian faith, demonstrating love, compassion, and service to those in need,” said Mr Crockwell. “I am convinced that together, we can inspire others to rally around this crucial cause.”

The spokesperson said, “According to Home, a charity dedicated to eliminating homelessness in Bermuda, the Department of Statistics developed estimates based on counting rough sleepers and the population housed in The Salvation Army emergency shelter. As of 31 December 2023, Home recorded Bermuda’s homeless population as 811.

“With a fundraising goal of $5,000, Crockwell believes that collective efforts will help alleviate the burden on the many agencies, individuals, and organisations working tirelessly to improve the lives of those currently unhoused. By supporting this initiative, the community can play an active role in addressing this crisis and ensuring that essential hygiene services are available to those in need. He encourages members of the community to walk alongside him or contribute to the cause to ensure that those experiencing homelessness have access to essential hygiene services.”

“Your presence and support would not only mean the world to us but could also amplify our efforts in spreading the word,” he added. “Together, we have the power to make a lasting difference.”

The spokesperson said, “Individuals and organisations interested in supporting this initiative can participate in the walk or donate to the fundraising efforts. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Carlton C. Crockwell Sr, JP, PhD on 441-707-5515. Donations can be transferred to Bermuda Commercial Bank. Victory Kingdom Worship Centre Account #1000269006.”
