Premier Burt In Europe For Forum & Meetings
Premier David Burt is in Europe where he and “the Bermuda delegation will participate in a series of high-level engagements focused on financial services and international cooperation.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Cabinet Office advised today that the Premier, David Burt has travelled overseas to Warsaw, Poland, and the UK for official business.
“The Premier leads a delegation of Government of Bermuda officials and is joined by representatives from the Bermuda Monetary Authority [BMA].
“Premier Burt and the Bermuda delegation will participate in a series of high-level engagements focused on financial services and international cooperation.
“In Warsaw, Premier Burt will attend the Eurofi Financial Forum, one of the largest and most influential financial services conferences in Europe. The Forum brings together leading voices from the European Union, global standard-setting bodies, and the financial services industry to discuss emerging trends, regulatory frameworks, and global financial stability.
“While in Europe, the Premier will also hold meetings with EU policymakers, regulators, and private sector leaders across the banking, reinsurance, and digital asset sectors.”
Regarding the official travel, Premier Burt said, “This visit is an important opportunity to reaffirm Bermuda’s longstanding commitment to compliance, cooperation, and tax transparency, and to ensure that our voice is heard in discussions that shape the future of global finance.”
The Government spokesperson said, “The Premier is joined by the Financial Secretary Chidozie Ofoego, Head of European Affairs & Policy, Aliyyah Ahad and Sierra Bell, Policy Advisor, Internation Affairs and Regulatory Unit, Ministry of Finance.
“Premier Burt is scheduled to return to Bermuda on April 15th.”
