The Women’s Resource Centre, in collaboration with Bermudian Queens Rock Academy, will host the upcoming [Her] Story Girls Club Day Retreat at Connectech Coding at Sofia House on Church Street next month.

The retreat, which will run from 9am to 5pm on May 24, is designed to empower girls aged 12-15 through workshops, art, self-discovery, and mindfulness.

The academy’s founder, Dommonique DeSilva, created the initiative while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Community and Human Services at Empire State University in New York.

“I’ll be leading this transformative day alongside Ms Shara Hill, known as the Meditation Chic,” Ms DeSilva told Bernews.

A former Para Educator with Bermuda’s Ministry of Education and as a volunteer with the Mirrors Programme, Ms DeSilva added: “Activities include self-esteem workshops, guided meditation, creative stations, and more. Parent feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the programme’s value in fostering self-love, confidence, and resilience.”

She added: “We are excited to continue this important work under the trusted umbrella of the Women’s Resource Centre.

“This partnership strengthens our belief that we are stronger together – uniting resources and expertise to create lasting change.

“By working alongside the Women’s Resource Centre and our community, we are better positioned to promote self-love, emotional resilience, and leadership among Bermuda’s young women.”

The cost of the retreat is $100. For more details, email djdesilva19@gmail.com.
