Gatwoine Minors Wins EA FC Tournament
Gatwoine Minors made local esports history with a 3–2 victory in the final to win the inaugural EA FC Tournament.
A spokesperson said, “Local esports history was made on Saturday, August 30th, as Gatwoine Minors emerged victorious at the inaugural EA FC Tournament 2025, hosted by ESports Bermuda Ltd. at Game On Sports Bar & Grill.
“The competition brought together some of Bermuda’s most skilled virtual footballers in front of a lively crowd. After a series of tightly contested matches, Minors secured the championship with a 3–2 win over AhNajae Saunders in the final. Antonio Carvelho claimed third place after a strong run through the brackets.”
“The atmosphere was electric, and the level of play exceeded expectations,” said Adrian Lodge, Founder of ESports Bermuda Ltd. “This event showcased the depth of talent we have on the island and is proof that Bermuda is ready to compete on the global esports stage.”
A spokesperson added, “Beyond the results, the tournament was also a celebration of sportsmanship and professionalism. Even after early elimination, players remained to cheer on their fellow competitors, with the entire group staying to watch the final showdown. The camaraderie was evident, with no ill-will or negativity — just a shared love of competition and the game.
“The EA FC Tournament 2025 was open to local players aged 14 and up, drawing competitors from across the island. Spectators at Game On cheered on the action, while the event further cemented Bermuda’s growing esports presence following ESports Bermuda’s recognition earlier this year as the official representative to the Global Esports Federation [GEF], in partnership with the Bermuda Olympic Association.
