Couple Celebrates 45th Anniversary In Bermuda
Victoria and Richard Sherry celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in Bermuda at Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort, where they enjoyed a round of golf and shared stories of their home course’s rich history with Kim Swan.
Mr. Swan said, “Congratulations to Victoria and Richard Sherry celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary at Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort with a round of golf.
“The Sherrys are avid golfers who proudly play at the historic Franklin Park Golf Course in Dorchester, Massachusetts, just outside Boston proper. Franklin Park Golf Course was made famous by the legendary Bobby Jones – golf’s first Grand Slam of Golf. Jones used to play the 12th hole back and forth because it was exceedingly challenging.
“Richard and Victoria proudly shared stories about their years golfing at Franklin Park and the camaraderie they have for decades. Richard Sherry proudly shared the history of Franklin Park’s legendary African American golfer who invented and patented the tee.”
Victoria Sherry said, “It’s great to be in Bermuda again but I had to insist upon it. It’s no way we were going to Cape Cod to celebrate our 45th anniversary – I made up my mind that’s where we are going and here we are having a great time.”
Mr. Swan said, “You would think that the Sherrys were regular repeat visitors by the way they fit in so well at Belmont. We are so pleased they chose Belmont, Bermuda to celebrate their milestone anniversary. They shared important history about Bobby Jones and Dr. George Grant’s association with their historic course, but were especially overjoyed to share the important cultural heritage associated with Franklin Park.”
