Two suspects were arrested after police “recovered a machete and a quantity of suspected controlled drugs” and discovered the motorbike they were riding had “been reported stolen, was unlicensed, uninsured and was fitted with false license plates.”

A police spokesperson said, “At approximately 3:25 p.m. on Monday, September, 2025 officers were on mobile patrol, along Middle Road, Warwick, when they observed a motorcycle with the rider and pillion passenger, both dressed in black jackets, black pants and wearing black helmets.

“The officers signalled them to remain where they were. However, the rider attempted to turn the cycle around and as he did so, lost control of the vehicle causing the seat to pop open and items to fall out.

“The individuals, both males, attempted to leave the scene, but were subsequently detained under section 315f of the Criminal Code.

“Officers recovered a machete and a quantity of suspected controlled drugs among the items which had fallen out of the bike.

“Upon checking the chassis number it was discovered the bike had previously been reported stolen, was unlicensed, uninsured and was fitted with false license plates.

“Further checks revealed the rider was disqualified from having a motorcycle license because he was underage.

“Both suspects were arrested and subsequently bailed to juvenile court.”
