Leticia Francis On Survival Podcast
Bermudian podcast host Leticia Francis has launched the second season of her show Survival Mode Disrupted, featuring unfiltered stories of “resilience, healing and transformation” from across the island.
The second season brings Bermudian voices to the forefront, sharing untold stories of people overcoming the trauma they have experienced in their lives.
Topics explored include predatory behavior, the silence surrounding abuse, intergenerational trauma, and the true meaning of healing.
“This season, I made the decision to open with voices from home because while Bermuda is often painted as paradise, many of us have survived battles that the world never sees,” Ms Francis told Bernews.
“I wanted to create a space where we could talk about those truths openly, without shame, without filters, and without judgment.”
Ms Francis said the response to the new season had been “overwhelming and deeply emotional,” with hundreds of listeners tuning in from Bermuda and overseas to hear stories that reflect “not just trauma, but triumph.”
She said: “Each episode is a reflection of Bermuda’s unspoken truths, our struggles, our resilience, and our capacity to rebuild.
“This series isn’t about victimhood. It’s about liberation.”
Ms Francis said the idea behind the podcast came after delving deeper into the trauma she had experienced during childhood and examining its effects on her.
“As I wrote my memoir, there was a reconciliation that a lot of the trauma responses I had were a result of the experiences from 14 to 22, which lingered for decades,” she added.
“That triggered me to dig a bit deeper. It’s important to recognise how things that happen in childhood end up looking like in adults.
“I used to think my trauma responses were just my personality. It brings awareness of trauma in our lives and what we can do to work beyond that trauma and live full lives.
“People often draw conclusions with knowing the full picture. It’s important to be open-minded and considerate of those who have experienced trauma.”

What a bold and beautiful idea. I left Bermuda due to generational abuse and trauma and have sat on therapist couches or chairs for over 30 yrs in various countries.
I am so pleased to read about your healing and desire to help others to understand and overcome their pain and suffering. Well done Missy.
Thank you!
