POPPY DAY
I can vividly remember world war two or WW11 does history repeat it self? There are many who do not much care . My family tells me “Mummy ! Will the bombs fall to night? ” Several homes went up in smoke near by, that night the sound from bombs was like the worst thunder storm imaginable . Every year we are reminded of the terrible experience of past and present wars as Bermuda gave many or her sons and daughters to the conflict. I am not sure if the parades are entertainment or a celebration. Now we have to worry about WW111 on or near our door step . I very much doubt that Bermuda can comfortably say ” are we really ready”.? Do you also very much doubt it ? . North America needs Bermuda as it did 85 years ago as a line of first defense as we were called upon before . Could it be that we are again sitting target. ? I have seen it all before . Wars have changed from boots on the ground to exploding guided missiles, they could come a night. ” A life lived in fear is a life half lived”. We all have got something to think about. Why does Bermuda never think about counting the chickens ?
