Raleigh Launches ’21 For 21′ Campaign
Raleigh International Bermuda marks 21 years with its “21 for 21” campaign to raise funds for youth programs and overseas expeditions.
A spokesperson said, “For 21 years, Raleigh International Bermuda has transformed the lives of young Bermudians through local survival and life-skills training and overseas expeditions. To celebrate this milestone, Raleigh is launching a bold challenge, raise $21,000 in 21 days and further, $210,000 in 21 weeks!
“The 21 for 21 campaign celebrates Raleigh Bermuda’s legacy of equipping young people to thrive and give back to their community. From trekking through Costa Rica’s jungles to learning survival skills on Bermuda’s shores, Raleigh provides safe spaces and experiential education. These programmes build resilience and leadership while also serving as a preventative measure against antisocial behaviours and gang violence.
“The campaign is being led under the new leadership of Denae D. Burchall, Executive & Development Officer, who brings a background in programme development and community engagement. She is committed to strengthening Raleigh’s partnerships and expanding its impact across the island.”
Burchall said, “I am excited to lead my first expedition with Raleigh, especially as it means rallying our community to support the programmes that young Bermudians rely on to make a real difference in their lives. The need for funding is urgent if we are to continue providing life changing experiences and safe spaces during Bermuda’s current social climate. 21 for 21 is both a celebration of our legacy and a call to action. Just as every trek requires teamwork to reach the summit, this campaign depends on all of us climbing together.”
Funds raised will directly support Raleigh’s three core areas of impact:
- The Venturer Overseas Expedition – giving Bermudian youth global volunteerism exposure, cultural exchange, and leadership experience.
- The operation of Malcolm’s Room – maintaining a safe and welcoming hub for mentorship, coaching, and alumni connection at our headquarters.
- The Brave Programme – providing year-round local training for high school students focused on fitness, emotional resilience, social skills, and survival skills.
Carol Feathers, who has been recently appointed to Board Chair, added, “The success of this campaign depends on all of us. Raleigh has always been about courage, teamwork, and community spirit, and 21 for 21 is no different. Even something as simple as forgoing one cup of coffee a day can help change a young person’s life. Visit our website and join us in reaching $21,000 in 21 days, and $210,000 in 21 weeks. Together, we can ensure that the next generation of young Bermudians continue to benefit from Raleigh’s life-changing opportunities.”
Jason Hayward, Minister of Economy and Labour, added his support, “Raleigh Bermuda has been a transformative force in the lives of young people across our island for more than two decades. As the organisation marks 21 years of service, I commend its unwavering commitment to empowering our youth with the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to thrive. The launch of the 21 for 21 Fundraising Campaign underscores Raleigh Bermuda’s continued dedication to future generations and I encourage the community to support the fundraiser.
“I would also like to congratulate and applaud Ms. Burchall and Ms. Feathers as they step into their new roles. Thank you both for stepping forward to guide this important work. The Ministry is proud to support Raleigh Bermuda’s mission and the lasting impact it continues to make in our community.”
