Football: Colts, Zebras, Lions & Cougars Win

The Bermuda Premier Division title race tightened this weekend as PHC Zebras and Devonshire Colts both recorded victories.

Devonshire Colts 2 – North Village Rams 1

Devonshire Colts completed a league double over defending champions North Village Rams with a 2-1 win.

North Village took the lead in the ninth minute when Jalen Harvey converted from close range after a corner. Devonshire responded 10 minutes later through Chemari Henry, who scored the equaliser.

Henry struck again in the 59th minute to give the home side the lead.

St. George’s Colts 1 – PHC Zebras 2

PHC Zebras earned a 2-1 victory over St. George’s Colts at Wellington Oval.

Enrique Russell opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a free kick that found the net. St. George’s levelled before halftime through Blaiz Hall.

Russell restored PHC’s advantage in the 74th minute, scoring his second goal of the match and his fourth of the season to keep the Zebras within one point of the top of the table.

X-Road’s 0 -  Paget Lions 1

Paget Lions claimed a late 1-0 win over X-Road’s Warriors in St. David’s.

After 87 scoreless minutes, Paget were awarded a penalty, which Diaje Hart converted to decide the match.

Devonshire Cougars 2 -  Boulevard Blazers 0

Devonshire Cougars defeated Boulevard Blazers 2-0 at the Devonshire Recreation Club.

Chae Brangman scored in the 29th minute to give the Cougars the lead. Chamori Burns added a second goal 10 minutes into the second half to secure the victory.
