Photos & Video: Womens Day Wellness Walk
The Government marked International Women’s Day with wellness events for the Public Service on March 4 and 6 under the theme #GiveToGain, including the annual Public Service Wellness Walk encouraging women in the Service—and women across Bermuda—to come together to move, connect, and celebrate the power of women uplifting women.
A Government spokesperson previously said, “As Bermuda prepares to celebrate International Women’s Day [IWD], the Public Service International Women’s Day Committee, led by Permanent Secretary Shivon Washington-Jones will once again recognise the occasion by hosting a series of events next week to shine a spotlight on women in the Public Service.”

It looks like black women’s day.Researchers are wondering why you dont celebrate family day. With a massive problem with black men we hear of little for them. In fact separating men from women’s day and women’s retreats etc etc will only…no has only made the plight of black men worse. Yes, women have been discriminated against and still are BUT the problem can be effectively solved with men inckuded. Not separately. Mark this date as a defining moment to see the merit of a joint approach to all discrimination and not this hollow shadow that hides the plight of black men highlighting that maybe this is a deliberate plan to exclude them. We will regret it in the end. But we will cop out and say slave trauma when really it is blind and misleading leadership with no vision for including all. Ok. I’m off to celebrate national cupcake day. Don’t ask me why they are all chocolate and garnished with lipstick, plaits and bows?
