Bermuda’s Jordan Vieira and Pj Rodrigues contributed to Eckerd College’s fourth-place finish at the SAISA Open Team Race Championship after a weekend marked by changing wind conditions.

Competing in a seven-team field, the Eckerd Tritons finished the two-day regatta with an 8-10 record. Racing took place in Florida under variable conditions, beginning with a southerly breeze of six to eight knots that later increased to around 15 knots on the opening day. After two round robins, 42 races had been completed.

Conditions on the second day ranged from eight to 13 knots before strengthening, with gusts exceeding 20 knots as the session progressed. The Race Committee completed a third round robin before deteriorating weather brought heavy storms to the coast.

Eckerd opened with 2-4 records in each of the first two round robins before improving in the final stage. Vieira, Rodrigues and their teammates went 4-2 in the third round robin to secure a place in the upper half of the standings.
