Drug Seizures: Street, Overseas, Entry
From Jan 1 – March 31 2010, an estimated 35kg [77lbs] of illegal drugs with an estimated street value of $1,726,820 were seized by the Bermuda Police. 17 Yr Old Stabbing Victim Airlifted to USA
After his condition worsened yesterday, the 17 year old Sandys parish man who was stabbed multiple times on Saturday was air-lifted overseas to Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, Maryland USA for further medical treatment. Police to Focus on Drunk Driving
The Bermuda Police Service say they will be “paying particular attention to the offence of impaired driving” as summer approaches. In this past weekend alone, there were 15 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Fatal Shootout on Bermuda Flagged Ship
Reports say that a deadly shoot-out left one pirate dead, and two seriously injured on the Bermuda-flagged MV Talca. The ship was hijacked by Somali pirates almost a month ago, and has 22 crew onboard. Reports filtering out of the region suggest the pirates are increasingly becoming uncombined.
