Two Suspected Burglars Arrested

Two men were arrested in connection with attempted burglaries early this morning [Jan.31].

A police spokesperson said, “Police on mobile patrol throughout Devonshire & Smith’s parish after reported attempted burglaries in the area arrested a 44 year old Hamilton parish man and a 43 year old Smith’s parish man on suspicion of burglary during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“In connection with the arrests, suspected stolen property was recovered and a reportedly stolen motorcycle ridden by one of the suspects was impounded after a brief pursuit. Both men remain in police custody pending further inquiries.

“The Bermuda Police Service continues to remind all residents to remain vigilant regarding burglaries by securing their valuables out of sight, recording serial numbers of all items and taking pictures of their possessions for identification purposes should it become necessary.

“Also, please remember to secure your vehicles and to close and lock your home’s windows and doors before leaving either unattended, particularly overnight.

“Further crime prevention and home security advice can be found on the Bermuda Police Service website at www.bermudapolice.bm.

“Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or individuals in their neighbourhoods to police by calling 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

“To request a home security survey or arrange an appointment to U-Mark your property, please contact the Crime Prevention Unit on 247-1704. The public is reminded that receiving stolen property is an offence punishable under the law.”

    Aewsome job BPS. Construction boom coming soon…in the works a bigger prison in St. Davids called Eastgate to house all these deadbeat good for nothing crooks.
