Videos: Premier/Ministers Town Hall

Premier Paula Cox hosted the second of a series of Town Hall meetings to discuss the upcoming National Budget last night [Jan.25] at the Leopard’s Club.

Premier Cox was joined on the panel by Minister of Economy, Trade & Industry Patrice Minors, Minister of National Security Wayne Perinchief, Minister of Government Estates & Information Services Michael Scott, and Minister of Public Works Michael Weeks.

Also in attendance was Senator David Burt, Minister Derrick Burgess, PLP MP Dale Butler, PLP MP Walter Roban, OBA candidates Anthony Francis and Wayne Scott, as well as OBA MP Cole Simons.

Premier Cox released the Pre-Budget Report last month, which highlights a number of policy options currently under consideration and the Town Hall meetings ate designed to solicit public feedback on the document. The first Town Hall meeting was held on January 18th at the Dalton E. Tucker Primary School in Southampton, you can view videos from that event here.

    Did the Ministers lead by example and car pool to the Leopard’s Club together or did they each arrive in their own GP car? They are preaching “more with less” right?

    So, how many showed up interested in what the PLP has to say? Over an hour of polititian blah blah blah folowed by a short time for the people to have their say.

    Packed house….or at least the small space privided was packed. Gov’t will present this as a sign of public confidence. I think we all know the real reason for poor attendance.

      What is the point. The budget is set. This is an excercise in softening the unpleasant blow to everyones wallet.
