Tourism Minister Wayne Furbert, Miss Bermuda Jana Lynn Outerbridge and the island’s “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” star Rebecca Faulkenberry were among those wishing New York commuters a “Bermuda-ful day” at Grand Central Station on Thursday [Feb. 16].

And Mr. Furbert said the “Experience Bermuda” marketing event was a huge successThousands of commuters were givenith a taste of the island through live entertainment, sampling of Bermudian cuisine, spa experiences, performances by local musicians Prestige and the H&H Gombey Troupe.

Bermuda’s own popular radio personality Kristy Burgess also known as “Miss Thang” from HOTT 107.5 FM, served as the emcee throughout the event.

“We feel as though we truly maximized our time spent in New York City by reaching thousands of consumers as well as leading travel agents and target media,” he said. “Our goal was to bring a taste of the island to New York City with the hope of driving new visitors to our shores as well as reminding returning ones that Bermuda is just a quick flight away.”
