Good Friday Shooting: 39-Yr-Old Man Arrested

April 10, 2012

A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting on Good Friday [Apr.6] at Somerset Cricket Club, and has been released on bail.

A police spokesperson said, “Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the reported gunshots that occurred around 2:45am Friday 6th April 2012 at Somerset Cricket Club in Sandys parish. Initial information suggested one man was injured as a result.

“It was later confirmed that two men, a 41 year old and an 18 year old were injured; however both received minor wounds. It is not clear at this time if their injuries were as a result of the reported gunshots; and this remains a focal point of the investigation. Both men were treated at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and discharged.

“The scene has been forensically examined and items have been seized for processing. A 39 year old man was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further inquiries.

“There were many people at the venue at the time of the incident, and detectives are very interested in speaking with anyone who was at the function before, during, or after the incident.

“This appeal is also extended to anyone with any information regarding this matter – and you are encouraged to contact the Serious Crime Unit at 247-1739, or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”

Get them all!!!! No more tolerance for this foolishness! An entire generation is not lost, just a handful of bad apples. Throw them away! Sorry but it’s what we need to do for the greater good! I will happily pay my tax dollars for their long prison sentence, at least I will feel safer at home!

So he could have killed and is given bail. This fool blatantly carried a gun then shot a man and he’s given bail. I guess when you have $$ the law doesn’t apply. SMH

      My sentiments the same

      • Seriously? says:

I was mad when I heard he was given bail too….but then I thought about something: there’s a whole bunch of people that want retaliation for what he did so since the death penalty isn’t “legal” in BDA, what the vigilantes do to this piece of scum is up to them. Interesting judicial tactic!!

To those who may plan to retaliate: GET BETTER AIM and do not harm innocent people who have nothing to do with your torrid, CHOSEN way of life!!

Send the convicted gunmen machete hackers, all murderers overseas to jails that fit their crime.

Somebody please share what these criminals are actually doing while locked up at Sweet Mates Hotel besides body building, football, arts & crafts, physical check ups and appointments with family and friends.

    Pathetic

  6. Mad Dawg says:

Gun crime isn’t taken seriously enough. Ewart blames the Governor but its the Government that makes the law. They could preclude bail for crimes involving guns, but they don’t. They’re weak on crime.
