BELCO: Emergency Outage For 333 Residents

Tomorrow [Sept 7], BELCO will be doing emergency work in the western area of Radnor Road to replace poles that have been struck by cars, and approximately 333 area residents will not have power for around six hours beginning at 9am.

A statement from BELCO said: “Tomorrow (Friday, 7 Sept), BELCO will be doing emergency work in the western area of Radnor Road to replace a pole that was broken when struck by a car, along with two other poles in the area that have been struck by vehicles.

“Temporary repairs were made to this equipment, and permanent repairs were scheduled for a later date. The work is being undertaken now, in advance of Hurricane Leslie, in the interest of public safety.

“Approximately 333 area residents will be affected by an outage associated with the emergency repairs. Work is scheduled to start at approximately 9:00 am tomorrow, and is expected to take approximately 6 hours to complete.

“The affected area includes: portions of Radnor Road and North Shore Road, Pearman Hill Road, Idlewood Drive, Shelly Hall Drive, Harvest Lane, Church Crescent, Trunk Island, Peters Road, Radnor Close, Sunnyview Drive, Radnor Court, Brown Estates Road and Stardust Drive.

“BELCO apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanks area residents for their patience, as emergency repairs are carried out in the interest of safety with Hurricane Leslie approaching.”

    Really??? All this hours before Leslie’s arrival when residents want to ensure that they are fully prepared for the storm. Nice job Belco – you could not have done this done sooner ??
