Shooting In Somerset, No One Injured
[Updated] At sometime early this morning [Oct 25] — around 1am — police responded to a report of what sounded like gunfire in the Somerset area. Unofficial reports suggest multiple shots were fired, and no one appears to have been injured. Area residents reports that police maintained a heavy presence in the area overnight, and appeared to be searching various areas. The police have not yet released an official statement, however will will update as able.
Update 12.37pm: The police have confirmed the incident above, their full statement follows below.
Police responded to reports of gun shots being fired in the area of Somerset Road in Sandys parish around 12:15am on Thursday, October 25th.
Upon police arrival it was forensically confirmed that gun shots were discharged in that area, however there were no reported injuries. The area was secured and an active investigation has commenced into this confirmed firearm incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone that may have seen persons acting suspiciously in the area of Somerset Road and Ledgelets Lane to contact police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Is this now payback time for the Smith’s shooting. Bunch of idiots

@Duh,- Excellent idea, best I’ve heard so far for west end..everyone must pass the bridge and cameras should be put up both ways to see clearly those coming in and out, that are not in boats of course!
soooo what if i went to visit my girlfriend to drop something off and then went home and was in that time frame. are you just gonna arrest everyone that crosses the bridge. how will that help?!?! and how will that prove anything. all it proves is that you went over the bridge. doesn’t mean you have a gun, shot a gun, attempted to kill someone, or even murdered someone. lets not just point fingers and throw out crazy ideas. they have to have some weight to them. especially if your going to slam the BPS.
