Robin Meade Attending Grand Slam Pro-Am

October 15, 2012

Robin Meade, host of HLN’s Morning Express, told her worldwide audience today [Oct 15] that she’s going to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda next week where she will play in the Pro-Am alongside Masters Champ Bubba Watson.

“Robin is new to golf and has instantly become a great ambassador for the game,” said David Charles, Senior Director of Championships for The PGA of America.

“She could not hide her excitement this morning when she revealed she’d be paired with Bubba Watson in Bermuda. As our President Allen Wronowski has said, ‘Robin’s enthusiasm for the game is infectious’.”

Robin Meade has teamed up with The PGA of America and pga.com to further encourage the participation of women in golf. Each day this week, through her show “Morning Express with Robin Meade”, Robin is sharing her golf experience with viewers.

She is particularly targeting new golfers like herself. The segments will also appear on pga.com. See a clip from this morning’s show here.

“I can’t believe it took me so long to even try golf,” said Meade. “I used to mutter under my breath if my husband had a charity tournament to play. Now I’m looking to see what I can play in next. I’m definitely not the future Annika, but I’m loving the game, the social connection, and the challenge.”

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf Pro-Am takes place Monday, October 22 at Port Royal Golf Course.

Golf Channel personalities Gary Williams, host of Morning Drive, and Michael Breed, host of The Fix, are also on the scorecard for the Pro-Am Monday, as is golf legend Ian Baker-Finch, the 1991 Open Champion and Grand Slam TNT broadcast commentator.
