Endurance Job Cuts, Two Bermudians Affected

Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. has confirmed that they eliminated a “significant number” of positions globally as part of an “expense reduction” plan.

While an Endurance spokesperson declined to confirm how many people overall were laid off in the Bermuda office, they did confirm that two Bermudians were affected.

In announcing new appointments yesterday, Endurance CEO John Charman said, “Endurance will truly differentiate itself over the next five years by achieving one of the lowest operating expense ratios in our industry.”

In May 2013, Endurance — a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance — went through a leadership change with John Charman replacing David Cash as the CEO.
