Wells Named League 1 Player Of The Month

September 6, 2013

Bermudian and Bradford City striker Nahki Wells has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month for August.

Wells, who fought off competition from Coventry City’s Callum Wilson, Colchester United defender Magnus Okuonghae and Leyton Orient’s Romain Vincelot has made an effortless step up in class following promotion from League 2 with five goals in as many matches.

Highlights from the month for Wells include netting City’s first of the season at Bristol City and his match-winning double over Sheffield United just under two weeks ago, a Bradford City FC report states.

Upon hearing about his Player of the Month award, Wells said, “I am happy with my start to the season and the way I have been playing, and to get this award to top it all off is great”.

Bantams manager Phil Parkinson added, “This award is thoroughly deserved and a just reward for Wells brilliant efforts”.
